Tanvitil vitiligo make-up is not a conventional self-tanning product. They are developed specifically for people with vitiligo. They produce a chemical reaction on the outer layer of the skin, thus achieving a more natural looking tan.
Tanvitil vitiligo make-up darkens the outer layer of the skin until its renewal. Here are some tips for best results applying the spray or gel toners:
- Start by testing the toner on a small area to see the result. Before applying new layers of product remember that the effect on the skin starts 20 minutes after application.
- Leave at least one millimetre between the application area and the pigmented skin to allow the colour to extend only within the patch. In these cases it is suggested to use Tanvitil Gel as Tanvitil Spray is indicated for larger patches.
- Moisturise the area to be treated. Tanvitil pigmentation may degrade days after application due to cell renewal, and such degradation may be delayed if the area is kept moisturised. Depending on each person and each type of skin, the effects of a single application of Tanvitil can last 3-6 days.
- Apply the product directly on the skin for so that the chemical reactions occur that will tan the area. The effect of Tanvitil has a fixed duration until the top layer of skin is renewed.
- Remember Tanvitil can leave stains on clothing due to temporary pigmentation, especially when the skin is damp. To avoid this, keep areas with Tanvitil adequately moisturised. In any case, traces of Tanvitil on clothing or blankets can be removed with a single wash.
- If the toner will be applied on the hair or beard remember that Tanvitil does not permanently pigment beards because the pigments do not stick to it, which is the same for hair of any area. If it changes colour, wash the area with warm water or rub with a tissue after waiting for Tanvitil to take effect and remove any excess pigment.
- The alcohol in Tanvitil makes it dry faster on the skin, but can also cause irritation if used after shaving. To prevent this, it is preferable to apply at least one hour after shaving or with a moisturiser.
- Do not apply the lotion in the hottest hours of the day and avoid exposure to sunlight and high temperatures.
- Tanvitil is not a sunscreen. It is advisable to take precautions when exposed to ultraviolet rays, especially at peak hours.
- Tanvitil is made up of Red33, Yellow5 and Blue1 pigments, which provide a colour as close as possible to the rest of the pigmented skin; however, the tone may be slightly lighter if applied on very white skins.
